Resilio Sync

Nowadays, a single person can own at least one computer, a smartphone, a tablet and other devices and moving data between these platforms can get tiresome. This is where Resilio Sync comes in. The application is capable of synchronizing data between all your devices. You can have your files stored on your main computer and the application will make them available to all other devices if they are linked to the same account.

Resilio Sync is available free of charge, for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Free BSD. It comes in a small package and it can be installed quickly and easily. The installer will say that you need Internet Explorer 9 or later, but the application will work perfectly fine if you don't have it.

The application comes with a web-based user interface, from which you can decide what to synchronize and how. You can start simply by adding folders from your hard drive. Once you add a folder, you may decide how to share the data. The application lets you via direct link, key or QR code. Furthermore, if you decide to share via link, you can set up permissions and security features. Permissions can be set to "read only" or "read and write" and it is also possible to set the link to expire or to be used for a maximum number of times.

Besides adding a folder to the sync pool, it is also possible to add advanced and encrypted folders. Setting up one or more advanced folders is a good solution if you wish to collaborate with other people. Also, if you set up an encrypted folder, you will have to send out an encryption key, so other people can access your data.

Resilio Sync will keep your data available for your devices at all times, while working quietly in the background. Of course, you can pause the synchronization at any time for all files or for individual folders.
